Hi.

We've got a wireless network at home.
I've just set my brothers computer up, and i am waiting for a wireles card for him.
But, i badly need to have a internet connection on his pc, so i can install network stuff and do program updates.
So, i linked my laptop (which is connected to the wireless) and his computer using a network kable so it could get onto the network.
But, my laptop and his desktop can't see each other, i tried typing in all the usual ip's but still nothing.
I've tryed this with other cables, and i know that his desktop has a lan card, and its still not working.
Any ideas? BEN.

Why not just plug his desktop into one of the wired ports on the router?

Coz the rooter is 2 floors below his desktop.
If i had to, i could just wait for his card, but its really annoying me coz i can't figger out whats going wrong.

What operating systems are each running? You might try Internet sharing through your laptop, and don't ask anymore then that cause I don't know precisely how to do it, but I do know it can be done...
